Olive Oil
DHC discovered the limitless potential of
olive oil in its pursuit of the best skin-
treatment products.
In the 1970s, most of the beauty oil on sale in Japan was mineral-oil based. During this time,
DHC’s founder continued to search for an oil that would be both effective and gentle on the skin.
The answer was olive oil. A chance encounter with a researcher showed that olive oil had the power to draw out the skin’s natural beauty.

and a Very Rare Oil
Rare oils safeguarded by a long-
established olive grower encountered in
Spain
Spain proved to be the ultimate destination for DHC’s pursuit of the world’s highest-quality olive oil.
After visiting one leading olive oil producer after another, we reached N??ez de Prado Oliva Virgen, a famed olive grower established in 1795 in Spain’s Andalusia region.
After explaining DHC’s passion for olive oil, we learned of the precious flor de aceite (flower of olive oil).

A drop of oil filled with the power of
fresh olives just before squeezing
The oil is extracted quickly, within two hours after harvest, from ripe, green, fully organic olives hand-picked by around 100 artisans.
Ordinary olive oil is extracted by squeezing under pressure after crushing harvested olives in a large stone mill; in contrast, flor de aceite is not squeezed. The oil gently drips from the olives when first crushed in a stone mill.
DHC holds exclusive rights to sell flor de aceite products in Japan. DHC Olive Virgin Oil is made exclusively from this special oil.
